Online Worship During Covid-19
For the next few weeks we will be gathering to worship online every Sunday at 10:00 am.
Here are some instructions for you’ll need for worshiping with us.
THE LITURGY
We will worship using the “Morning Office” from the Book of Common Prayer (where all our liturgy comes from). We put the liturgy together with the songs we are singing and the scriptures we are reading in one document.
Three Options to accessing the Liturgy:
Smart Phone: Rez Worship, March 29, Phone Version.
Printable PDF: Rez Worship, March 29, Large Version.
Another Option is to use the white Daily Prayer books that our church printed and uses in our Table Groups. Keep in mind, if you use that option, you will still be missing the texts to songs we’ll be singing. But for some of us, the feeling of our familiar prayer books in our hands will be our preferred option.
WATCH AND WORSHIP TOGETHER ONLINE
We have two options for joining in our worship online. We will live stream from our Facebook page and from our Website. The advantage of using Facebook is that you can interact with other parishioners in the Facebook chat during the service. For instance, during the Prayers of the People, you might want to offer up a prayer in the comments. The advantage of going directly to our website is that you won’t have the distraction of receiving Facebook notifications while worshiping.

TWO TIPS FOR WORSHIPING ONLINE
Prepare like you would both for church and a video conference. When I prepare for a video conference, I make sure I can log on 15-30 minutes before the call starts. And I make sure I’m in quiet place and free from distractions so I can focus. It’s good idea to make sure all of your technology and internet are working well before the start so that you aren’t distracted during the service. Preparing like you would for church means that you prepare you heart to participate in worship before the live stream starts. Maybe try to spend a few minutes in prayerful silence as you wait for the stream to start.
Participate, Participate, Participate - of course, nothing is better than being all in the same room together worshiping. But I encourage you to make the most of our online worship together. Pray when it’s time to pray. Sing when it’s time to sing. Meditate on what the Lord is speaking to you during the sermon. Do your best to worship the Lord with all your heart and all your soul and your mind.
I look forward to worshiping God with you on Sunday. It will be different, but I know what will be the same: God will show up as He always does. He will be present as we worship and He will speak speak through His Word. We will “leave” feeling encouraged in our faith and strengthened for the week ahead of us. Hope to see you—online—this Sunday at 10 am.
Grace and Peace,
Fr. Jon Ziegler
