Table Groups starting back - Fall 2020

Have you been a part of a Rez Table Group? If not, now is a great time to jump in.

Maybe you were a part of group—but your group ended or you got busy. Now is a great time to jump back in.

If we want to grow in our faith and become more like Christ—we need community, other Christians to encourage us, challenge us, and pray with us. Table Groups create intentional space for this kind of thing to happen.

In the past, our groups have been defined geographically (by neighborhood) but now that many of our groups meet online, geography is less important.

I am going to post a description of the different groups below. I would encourage you to consider which groups might work best for you. You might try out multiple groups over the next few weeks to see which one works for you.

WEDNESDAY GROUPS

Echo Park Group | 8 pm

Led by Krista Fauria & Will Buck

This group currently consists of mostly singles and couples without kids—but they are open and welcoming to anyone. They start with checking in on everyone followed by compline, Scripture reading and praying for one another.

Eagle Rock / Glendale Group | 7:30 pm

Led by Richard & Beverlee Paine

Description:  We are a pretty good mix of young single(s), married couples with and without children and older folk.  Individuals live in Eagle Rock, Highland Park, and Glendale.  At the moment there are 9 of us who show up regularly.  We feel comfortable sharing the leadership role, when time and schedules allow.  We start with a "check in," then generally follow a shortened Evening Prayer or Compline format, interweaving worship, scripture and prayer. This summer we have also been sharing our "faith stories," which has led to a great appreciation of the goodness of God in our lives.  There's plenty of room at our "table", so please feel welcome to join us this fall.

THURSDAY GROUPS

moms group | 7:30 pm

Led by Victoria Ruan and Kristine Eller

Description: We meet online every other Thursday from 7:30pm - 8:30 pm, and (optionally) in groups of 2 or 3 in the off weeks for more one on one connection and conversations.We hope this group can be a blessing to mothers by providing encouragement, friendship, and rest.

Pasadena | 7:00 pm

Led by Jeremy Bone 

Description: Before Covid-19, we were the Pasadena small group, but now our members are scattered across California (and the US). I am currently in St. Louis, MO :) Every Thursday we meet from 6:00-7:30pm. We gather over zoom for bible study, prayer, and encouragement! Through our gatherings, we help each other become mature disciples of Jesus Christ. We are being formed by Scripture, the Spirit, the liturgy, and each other! The first hour typically follows the evening office, including  a deep discussion on a specific passage from Scripture. 

The second part (typically around 30 minutes) is a time to share prayer requests and pray for one another. 

FRIDAY GROUPS 

Highland Park | 7:30 pm

Led by Jon and Janna Ziegler

Description: We have been mostly couples with young kids, but also a few others have participated as well. All are welcome. We usually do the Evening Office together, reflect on scripture, pray for one another and do some kind of check in.
