Holy Week | Home Guide
Holy Week is almost upon us. This is the week when we once again become witnesses.
You might remember that when St. Peter was speaking to Cornelius in Acts, he said, “We are witnesses of everything Christ did in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They killed him by hanging him on a cross, but God raised him from the dead on the third day and caused him to be seen.”
During Holy Week, like the apostles, we enter Jerusalem and become witnesses of the sacrificial suffering and resurrection our Lord Jesus Christ. Please do everything in your power to make yourself present to these decisive moments of God’s saving power in human history.
This Holy Week will be different than any other as we will be participating from our homes. The current instability of our world provides us with a unique invitation to enter into Holy Week with the weightiness of our need for a Rescuer. Despite where we find ourselves physically, we live our lives by an alternative story. And this coming week, starting with Palm Sunday, we re-orient around that story by participating in the liturgical drama of Holy Week.
