Mariachi Mass with a Blessing of the Animals
Bring your pets to church on Sunday, October 6th!
In celebration of St. Francis, we will be celebrating a Misa con Mariachi (Mariachi Mass) with a Blessing of the Animals. This event is open to everyone in the community and their dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, etc.!

If you’ve never attended a Misa con Mariachi - basically it’s a normal church service but a mariachi band leads the singing of various parts of the liturgy. It’s an especially festive way to worship.
St. Francis loved all of God’s creation, including animals. That is why Christians often bring their pets and farm animals to church on this day to have them blessed. At the conclusion of the service, we’ll have a blessing of the animals followed by an Italian pot-luck in honor of St. Francis (who was from Assisi, Italy).
