MAUNDY THURSDAY, April 18th, at 7:00 pm

On Maundy Thursday we celebrate Christ’s institution of the Eucharist.  The day receives its name from the mandatum or the “new commandment” given by our Lord. At the Last Supper, Jesus washed his disciples’ feet and commanded them to love and serve one another as he had done. In this service, we remember the joy of the institution of the Eucharist, the love and service which Jesus lived and taught, as well as the agony in the Garden of Gethsemane, and the betrayal leading to the crucifixion.

Maundy Thursday—with it’s experiential elements—is especially suited for kids. We encourage them to participate in the service with us. We will have a nursery provided for those parent who need it for ages 6 months - 3 years.

Our Maundy Thursday service will take place in the chapel of Church of the Resurrection, 1500 N. Avenue 53, Los Angeles, CA 90042 (one block north of York Blvd in Highland Park, Northeast Los Angeles).
